Accidental Death of Arthur Kurtz Shocks Steele City
The community learned of Arthur Kurtz's death after he was struck by a northbound train two miles south of Fairbury while walking home after missing the 1 a.m. return. The 23 year old, found with $30 and identifying letters, was laid to rest beside his mother in Steele City. Funeral by Rev. Walker followed at his home with Modern Woodmen rites. He was born southwest of Diller and grew up among neighbors. his family mourns his loss.
