Fire Prevention Days Declared. Easter Go to Church Plan

The governor proclaims April 17 and 18 as Fire Prevention and Clean Up Days. Next Sunday is Easter and Go to Church day for Diller. The Christian Endeavor will stage a play The Town Marshal at Pleasant View church on April 17 to benefit the church, admission 15 and 25 cents. A seven room steam heated house with 28 lots is offered for 2500 dollars with clear title. Local assessors are at work. Residents attend to family news as cranes pass overhead and varied travel occurs around Diller and nearby towns.

Mrs Simmons Returns Home After Visit

Mrs. Ethel Zook Simmons and her infant child left Mrs. S. J. Thompson's house after a visit and returned yesterday to their home in Lincoln.

Village Trustees Elected In City Hall Election

The spring village vote at the city hall produced three trustees for two years. The Citizen's ticket won by clear margins over the People’s Independent. Totals shown: Loock 70, Cree 62, Waggoner 41, Mudge 88, Trefck 31. board declares Loock, Clark and Starr elected with certificates to follow.

Easter Church Services and Local notices mingle in Diller column

Easter Sunday services are advertised with morning and evening worships and special music. A ladies Easter bazaar and supper are planned at the Colman hotel Saturday evening. Local items include reopens of a cement block garage for auto service, student Bell Sparks resuming studies, a family illness update, births, and district court activity. A J. Kerr restaurant burglary is reported with minor loss and a suspect seen in town.

Church Going Day Dictates Early Closings in Diller

All businesses including restaurants barber shops and drug stores will close at 10 o clock am and 7 pm due to Church Going Day in Diller. The committee urges no interruptions for favors during these hours and asks all to attend the church of their choice for a quiet hour.

Easter Sunrise Prayer Meeting At Presbyterian Church

On Easter morning 1914 the young people of church societies gather at 5 30 for a sunrise prayer meeting at the Presbyterian church. The program includes preludes songs prayers talks by leaders and short discussions led by Frank Campbell Dale Reinhardt and L M Cavett followed by benediction C E Topie urges church going day and lasting habits from I Corinthians 15 85 58.

Christian Bible school at 10 a.m. preaching at 11. C E at 6 30 p.m. preaching at 7 30. Special music for all services. Everyone cordially invited.

Methodist Church Sets Sunday Schedule and Epworth Day

The church announces Sunday services at 11 a.m. with Sabbath school at 10 a.m. Special music will feature all services. Last Sabbath the pastor and officers organized a Sunday School at Frithsie school house with a full slate of officers and teachers. The school’s prospects are bright.
