Neighbors gathered Sunday to celebrate the new home of George Baker located 33 miles north of Diller on the county line. About fifty attendees shared a dinner and played horseshoes,, and the couple received a present of a dish set as a memento of the occasion.

County Woodmen of America Meet Sets Policy in Diller

The Modern Woodmen county camp in Jefferson county met at the Masonic hall in Diller on April 1 1914. Frank T. Pearce chaired the temporary meeting which elected C H Denny and C E Waggoner to permanent posts. Delegates approved resolutions opposing 1912 Chicago rate plans and backing rates tied to age with a 70 year cash option, plus referendum on future rate changes and term limits for head officers. The assembly also elected J C Blauser and Alex Sib Endicott as delegate and alternate to the Has tings state camp and chose Fairbury for the 1917 county camp location.

Sabbath program lists morning meeting with annual congregational session and topics on Twelve great verses and The Power verse from Philippians, a consecration theme, followed by an evening Palm Sunday service recalling the triumphal entry with readings and reflections.

Alumni Association of Diller High School Meets April 4

The annual meeting of the Alumni Association will be held at the school house Saturday April 4 at 8 p m. All members and prospective members are urged to attend. The date was changed to accommodate teachers in the association. Mrs C L B Blauser president.
