Dal ton School Board Sets 1907 Tax Levy In Special Session
The Board of Education of the Dalton School District met in special session last Wednesday evening to set the yearly tax levy, which is 44 millions higher than last year, to be apportioned to tuition and contingent funds. Miss Mary E. Erwin resigned from the Intermediate department, and her resignation was accepted. The board will consider applications for Grammar and Intermediate teachers at the next regular meeting on June 4, 1907.

Tragic Crow Hunting Accident Claims 19 Year Old
Willis Jenior aged 19 son of Mr and Mrs Willian Jenior was accidentally killed west of town last Wednesday afternoon while crow hunting. A misfired gun discharged into his chest with the barrel pointed toward him. Doylestown Journal reports the incident.

Struck by Automobile in Massillon Injury to Hatfield
William P. Hatfield aged 70 of Dalton was struck by a car at East Main and Erie in Massillon Friday. Driver William Grinnell, no fault found, remained nearby as Hatfield suffered leg injuries and bruises. he was treated by Dr. Culbertson then taken to Nathan Mottit's home.

Runaway Accident Near Town Traps Family in Buggy
Mrs. David Hess and the eleven year old daughter of Mr. Jacob Rudy escaped serious harm when a noon Wheeling and Lake Erie passenger train struck their buggy on Ressler road. The engine appeared without warning, frightening the horse and overturning the carriage. Mrs. Hess was shaken. the girl suffered a cut above the left eye and bruises.
