Fire at Eckard Bros Service Station Sparks Blaze
A blaze and heavy smoke erupted at Eckard Bros service station on Cochran street. An explosion at the elevated storage tank when the switch was opened caused a flash of flame that set a tar paper roofed building beneath the tank on fire. Firefighters responded quickly and contained the blaze. damage estimate not given.
