Detroit nurse Camille Arnold plans a late summer wedding to Donald Lautzenheiser of Canton Ohio Power Co. West Liberty bride Delia Liechty wed Edward Herr on June 12 at South Union Mennonite church. Guests, cake baked by groom’s mother, reception for 100, couple to reside in Bloomington Illinois.
The Woman’s Society of Christian Service held a church meeting with devotions by Mrs. Robert Mumaw. Edna Burk holder led specials. Charlotte Burk sang solo with Katy Buchwalter, a Harriett Donna and Betty McFarren trio. Mrs. Schultz led business. Election of officers impressed in candlelight. officers elected include President Mrs. Paul Schultz and others. Reading on the United Nations was given by Blethyn, Woods, and Edna Camp. Marie DeArment spoke on her travels. A birthday party followed with Van Fleet roses and decorative hats.

Lt Chas Frost and family from Valdosta GA visiting Estella Warnock and Marie DeArment and also in Danbury CT with Ruth Frost and Rev Marsh.

V C S closed a two week session with an open house for parents and friends and a picnic. Several teachers lent time generously, including Eleanor Robart Pearl Dague Marjorie Berg Wanda Wilson Gloria Akers and others guiding kindergarten primary and junior divisions. 107 children enrolled with high attendance.
Mrs Gertrude Eiseman of Boston Massachusetts was named President of The Mother Church The First Church of Christ Scientist Boston at the annual meeting with members from around the world present Her appointment announced by the Christian Science Board of Directors She will serve a one year term before dedicating herself to public Christian Science healing work Eiseman has long served on philanthropic and civic boards and during World War II worked on the Christian Science War Relief Committee.

Dalton High School announces tryouts for the All Girl band majorettes open to current students from freshman to senior and a mascot spot for third and fourth graders in the 1954 55 term.
