The Monday Mothers club of the future kindergarten in Dalton met June 6 with 22 members. Reports covered bake sales netting about $30 and a June 18 sale at Grim's Garage. A July 20 festival fundraiser at the Coun try Store was approved and a town canvass planned. An instrument concert for the kindergarten is set for June 17 at the Presbyterian church. Treasurer's report shows about $900. Next meeting July 11.

The Dalton Garden Club toured rose gardens of Mrs. Orwick Sr. and Mrs. Jack Moser before a V F W post home meeting. Roll call was Your Wild Flower. Arrangements included Little Red Riding Hood and a June bride gift tree. A shower arrangement by Mrs. Blosser featured a miniature bride and hidden ice cubes. Mrs. Scott spoke on wallflowers. A Swedish auction led by Mrs. Linson concluded the gathering.

Safe Driving Award Presented to Dalton Rural Carrier
Mr. David P. Deterich received a six year Safe Driving Award Pin and citation at the Dalton post office. Marvin E. Oswald acting postmaster presented the award. Deterich has served as a rural carrier at Dalton for six years with a perfect safety record. The National Safety Council, through the Post Office Department, sponsors the award as part of a safety campaign.

Funeral for Mrs Neva Burfield Held in Dalton
The funeral for Mrs Neva Blanch Burfield of S Mill St Dalton was at 2 pm Tuesday at the Presbyterian Church. The Rev L M Marker officiated. Burial followed at Dover Memorial Park. She died Saturday in Dunlap Memorial hospital Orrville. She was a Tuscarawas County native who had lived in Dalton 11 years.
