The final program of the Vacation Bible School was presented Sunday night in the United Presbyterian church. Four ministers and Dalton teachers led two weeks of Bible readings singing and dramatizations. Certificates with gold or silver stars were awarded to 120 children based on attendance memory work and class work.
The Y W class held its annual garden party at Mrs Milo Millers country home. Thirty members and twenty guests attended with peonies iris deutzias roses mock orange and gardenias in the decor. A ball game a covered dish dinner and a program followed with prizes awarded to several members.
Miss Grace Matter daughter of Mrs Elma Matter Mt Eaton and Marion Graber son of Mr and Mrs Chr Graber Dalton were married Thursday at St Pauls Reformed parsonage Mt Eaton. The Rev S J T Flobr per formed the ceremony. The bride a Massillon teacher and the groom an Ohio Drilling Co employee were attended by Miss Helen Matter and Floyd Graber. They began a wedding trip to Washington DC and other eastern destinations.
City lays out permit times for fire works starting 6 p m July 3 and running to midnight July 4. Fire crackers and other pieces must not be directed at pedestrians or under vehicles. Mayor W A Mumaw signs the notice.

The Y P C U convention at Mansfield presbyterial is set for Friday June 20. The program runs 2:00 Devotions and 2:15 Welcome address by Miss Kate Wyre with a reply by Miss Maryellen Fisher. Sessions include business, a 3:15 conference by Rev H W Eddy, 4:00 discussion on new ways to venture with Christ, 4:30 general discussion, 4:45 social hour, 6:30 banquet, 7:30 devotions at Fairmount Park with Quasi Sisters, 7:45 address Venture With Christ by Rev W H Hubbell, and 8:30 installation of new officers.
The Women's Missionary Society of the United Presbyterian church gathered at Mrs. Hauenstein’s east of town on Thursday. Devotionals were led by Mrs. Caldwell and business by Mrs. Pinkerton as twelve members and two guests attended. Delegates to the Presbyterial convention in Savannah were elected: Mrs. Howard Douglas and Mrs. O. W. Hauenstein. The group will reconvene with Mrs. Snavely in July.
Pokeberry Mr and Mrs Jonas Eberly with sons Allan and Henry daughter Elizabeth return home from Indiana Monday Mrs Aaron Eberly Mrs Ralph Eberly near Dalton and Mrs Dan Hahn of Columbiana visit Mrs Susan Martin Friday. Noah Weaver of Columbiana called on friends last week. Laura Koppes visiting mother in John Buchwalter home. J A Heatwole and Walter Eberly leave for Rockingham Va. Ida Horstill has mumps. Earl Ressler called on Roy Bone. Elmer Martin nursing a sore finger. Phares Horst and family returned from eastern trip Saturday. Ephram Good of Chester and Clarence Horst of Medina visited Emanuel Wenger home Sunday. Barbara Nolt, formerly of this community now of East Sparta, reported dead Saturday.
J C Eschliman son of Mr and Mrs J H Eschliman and Missina Rich of Leetonia Ohio were married June 7 at the home of the bride’s sister Mrs John Jones in Lowellville. The groom, a Fitch High School superintendent, is a D H S 1914 and Ohio State graduate. The bride, a Leetonia High School 1918 and Goshen College graduate, has taught for several years. They will reside at 378 East Dunedin Road Columbus for the summer and return to Fitch next year with Mr Eschliman as superintendent.
The Young Men's Farming Club toured farms on June 12 learning about top cattle, poultry and crop practices. Stops included Aaron Hursh's Orrville dairy with record milk output, D W Galehouse's well equipped seed house and alfalfa trials, Ward Ramseyer's 250 acres of potatoes, Carl Funk's Smithville poultry operation, and Walter Rennicker's Wayne Township multi thousand hen facility. The class ended inspired by local farm success across several disciplines.
