Kidron Auction 25th Anniversary Event Begins Wednesday
The Kidron Auction marks its 25th anniversary with a Wednesday program starting at 4 30 p m featuring contests and performances by bands from Berne Indiana Sugar Creek Wool Wooster high school and Dalton school. Col Cy Springer gives welcome followed by talks by Ex Gov Frank J Lausche and L L Ruumell. Concessions are run by the Kidron Athletic Association. The 25th Anniversary Sale continues Thursday at noon with $500 in prizes to consignors and a grand prize of 100 to the farmer with the highest total consignments.

Dalton Merchants Triumph and Local Events Highlight July
Dalton Merchants defeated Orrville Colts 7 to 0 and Barberton 4 to 3 on Sunday. The Women’s Organization of the Federated church will meet with Mrs. Carl Shisler this Thursday evening. Dalton schools will close to all outside activities in August for repairs. The big V F W Carnival is set for Memorial Field on July 8 and 9 with three bands and amusements. Band Benefit Festival By 11th Regt Band At Town Hall Lawn
The 11th Regt band sponsors a festival on the Town Hall lawn on Saturday night June 26 with foods of many kinds. Bingo and music by the Dalton School band and the 11th Regt band. Proceeds fund benches at the band stand for concertgoers. Donations of cakes and pies are welcome and volunteers at stands are appreciated.

VFW Ladies Auxiliary Marks First Anniversary
The Ladies Auxiliary to the V F W Post 5534 held its first anniversary on Thursday June 10 with refreshments served by the men’s post. A large birthday cake ice cream and pop were provided. Community Club Seeks Shelter at Memorial Park Picnic
At a meeting last Thursday the Community Club urged building a shelter house in Memorial Park for picnic gatherings. Members formed groups to pick suitable nights and bring tools to erect the shelter. Swings, sliding boards and a merry-go-round were purchased for children. A movie by Abbott & Costello titled No Indians Please was shown by Supt. George H Eastman.

District Meeting and Flower Show of Ohio Garden Clubs
The 14th District of the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs gathered at Dalton Methodist Church on Wednesday. The event featured songs by Mrs. Paul Schultz and a high school girls trio, a round table led by Regional Director Mrs. Abner Kaufman, and a covered dish luncheon for 101 attendees. Garden clubs represented included Burbank Gardenettas Hilltop Laurel Swilton Rittman Sharon Center Wayne County Wildwood and Dalton. The Flower Show occurred in the Presbyterian church basement with Mrs. C. V. Amstutz winning the grand prize for delphiniums and 19 entrants taking first prizes.
