A collection of remarks on punctuality by E V Lucas Shakespeare Nathaniel Emmons Mary Baker Eddy and Carter Dickson. The passages marvel at being on time and the costs of delay, framing punctuality as etiquette and practical wisdom.
Mary Ellen Shane and Ellsworth M. Goudy married at Pleasant Valley church near Dalton on May 15 at 1 30. The bride wore a powder blue linen suit and carried a white Bible with yellow roses. Miss Louella Shane gave a piano recital. Maid of honor was Betty Fahrni and best man was Robert Shane. Reception followed. Mrs Goudy and Mr Goudy share hometowns and occupations.
The Circles of the Presbyterian church met Tuesday evening in four gatherings. Circle 1, hosted by Mrs. Ro bert Weikert with Mrs. Max Robart, featured devotions by Mrs. Elmer Ober and a social hour led by Mrs. Merle Douglas. Circle 2, at Mrs. Dale Scott’s home with Mrs. Russell Zeigler, had devotions by Mrs. Troy Douglas, a Jeep Tracks book from Mrs. Scott, and games led by Mrs. Clyde Wenger. Circle 3 met at Mrs. E. A. Van Dersall with co host Mrs. Carl Plasterer, devotions by Mrs. Glen Meier. Circle 4 at Mrs. Bessie McCullough’s home had co host Mrs. Pauline Dye and devotions by Mrs. Miles Tschantz.
Lima Rescue Home data for April shows 956 free meals and 508 free lodgings, 353 clothing items, 115 odd jobs, and 31 evangelistic services. A Florida to Cleveland travelers with brake trouble received a minor repair and fuel after a meal, then continued on. James C. Welty, Supt.

Rev and Mrs Thomas W Lorenz and children David Tommy and Becky joined Rotary International’s golden anniversary in Chicago from May 31 to June 2. They visited friends in Van Wert and Chalmers Indiana and vacationed at Round Lake near Adrian Michigan. They plan to attend the North East Ohio Conference at Lakeside June 21 to 26. Betty Lorenz, Adrian College student, joined them at Round Lake and returned to Dalton with Rev Lorenz and David.
Rev. George Brubaker and wife and Leyi Martin and wife of Waterloo Ontario visit this vicinity. Eli and Jacob Zimmerman and wives of Lancaster PA spend the weekend here. Emory Martin and family of New Holland PA weekend here. Ray Horst and wife visit Dayton area with son Leonard while Earl Horst attends his aunt’s funeral. Elmer Martin and wife of Dayton VA depart after a week here. Infant daughter of John Ramer remains ill. Several couples visit Allen and Henry Eberly home May 29. Large group attend Anna Van Pelt and Melvin Newenswander wedding in Mahoning Co. Oren Brubaker and wife return to North Carolina after mother’s funeral. Large attendance at Mrs. Clayton Rover funeral in Medina Co. May 28. Mr and Mrs Owen Witmer spend weekend in Wisconsin with daughter Mabel. Miss Amy Martin vacationing in central Kansas.

Mr and Mrs J H Bodell of 310 Ohio Street Ashland celebrate their Golden Wedding anniversary with an open house next Sunday from 2 to 5 PM. Married June 12 1905 in Dalton by Rev W H Rubbell. They have three children Tor McCarty Ashland Morris Bodell Marion and Mrs Willard Coffman nine grandchildren and Mrs Bodell is the former Mary Root.
The Womans Society of Christian Service will meet at the Methodist church on Tuesday June 14 at 8 pm Guests with birthdays from January 1 to June 30 are invited Special features include election and installation of officers Helena Smith and Grace Weisgarber are hostesses.
Twenty three graduates and members of the Class 1916 Dalton High School met on Memorial Day at the school house for a reunion dinner. Rev. Glenn M. Lauder was elected president and Mrs. Georgia Freet Smith secretary treasurer. A 40th anniversary gathering was planned for next year with a round robin idea among members and teachers.
Warren P. Cully, 84, died Friday at New-Ed-Lo Rest Home in Wooster after living in Dalton most of his life He was born October 17 1870 on a Dalton area farm He was a Presbyterian life member survived by brother Herbert of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews Preceded by a brother and a sister Funeral services were Sunday at 230 p.m. at the Monbarren residence in Dalton with Rev L M Marker officiating Interment in Dalton Cemetery
