Dalton Opens Free Summer Library in High School Room

The Dalton community will have free library service this summer with hours Fridays 1 to 5 starting June 12 in the High School library. A large assortment of books will be available through cooperation with Wooster Public Library and the local school board. Everyone may use the service.

Bible School Pupils Hear Talk On Eyes Protection

Miss Isabel Barry of Ohio Public Service Co Massillon will give an illustrated talk on Eyes Their Protection and Care at the Bible School. The event at the United Presbyterian church starts Thursday morning at eleven. Barry has extensive sight saving experience as an assistant to Virginia Wing of the Cleveland Sight Saving Council.

Ag. Boys Headed for Washington Trip and Back

The Ag. Boys and their instructor D. H. Scott left by bus on a weeklong tour visiting Gettysburg Washington Mt Vernon and Annapolis Naval Academy. Miss Kathryn Schultz daughter of Mr and Mrs Schultz and Akron teacher graduated from Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Miss Mildred Tschantz visiting Nappanee Indiana plans Bluffton College commencement on return.

Band Concert by the 11th Regiment at Band Stand

The 11th Regiment Band will give a concert at the band stand Saturday evening at 7 45. Open to the public with performances by the military band in a community event downtown.

Community Club Festival at School Campus This Thursday

The Community Club stages a festival on the school campus Thursday evening June 26 featuring free vaudeville acts, concessions, and music by the 11th Reg't Band.

The local fire department will hold a practice drill on Thursday evening. Members gather at Domer’s Garage at 7:00.

Notice that about 200000 Bonus Bonds for World War veterans in Ohio western Pennsylvania and West Virginia will be mailed from Cleveland on June 15. Mrs. Jane Ann Ralph Dies After Illness

Mrs. Jane Ann Ralph aged 51 died Tuesday morning at 7 at her sister's home after five months with heart trouble. Survivors include son Edgar of Brockway PA and daughter Mrs. W L Hartman of Medina with four grandchildren and several siblings. The funeral is Friday at 2 PM at Murray and Stockham Funeral Home with burial in Dalton Cemetery.

Quiet Wedding Unites Arlene McClelland and Floyd Shanklin

A quiet wedding was held at the U. P. parsonage Sunday at 2 PM. Miss Arlene McClelland and Floyd Shanklin of Pleasant Valley joined in marriage, with Rev. R. G. Pinkerton officiating. The bride wore white with matching accessories and carried white flowers. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Berg.

Coler Edris Tie The Knot In Canton Wedding

Coler Edris married Margaret Coler of Orrville daughter of Mr and Mrs Coler Coler and Clair Edris son of Mr and Mrs A S Edris in a ceremony by Rev J E Hill Wellsburg West Virginia on May 28 at one o clock The couple left for a wedding trip visiting Oakland Maryland and Johnstown Pennsylvania before returning May 31 and settling in Canton.

Mock church wedding caps class party at ME S&S event

Class No. 9 of the M E S&S met with Mrs A E Schultz Thursday evening with 20 present. The event featured devotionals by Mrs Wm Kreiling and entertainment led by Mrs D H Scott and Mrs L L DeArment. A mock wedding, nuptial piano recital by Mrs C F Buchwalter, and songs by Mrs Scott highlighted the evening.

Alumni Band Concert and Honors at Dana Musical Institute

Eight Dana Musical Institute alumni received honorary and graduate degrees at Warren Ohio during Sunday night baccalaureate services. Masters of Music were awarded to Ross Wyre and Lois Russell Wyre of Philadelphia. The Alumni Band concert, conducted by Dr Edwin Franko Goldman, featured Mr Harvey Wyre Kate Wyre Mrs Irene Zaugg and Lawrence Lenhardt of Wooster.
