Memorial day exercises in Dal ton attracted visitors from nearby areas. Despite threatening clouds the program started early with a parade led by the 11th Hegti Band to the cemeteries. Rev. Wm Williams of Nashville delivered the day’s address, followed by a benediction and the singing of America. Fifty seven graves were decorated, including three new ones.
June weather brings mild rain and reports from Sonn enberg relatives and visitors. Ivan Boone and family of Akron visited C Zuercher. Jacob A Moser praises his new auto. David Bixer from Berne Indiana attended his aunt Mrs Steiner Sr.’s funeral near Orrville. Several noting farm work, baptisms, and crop worries as letters describe wind and drought impact in Oklahoma and nearby communities.
Bigler thanks readers for new names on the subscription list. Mrs Palmer and daughter Blanche visit friends in Cincinnati. Mrs Ix Cole and Miss Ella Roebuck spend Sunday with friends in Rittman. Miss Tillie Fisher of Wooster returns home after a week with Miss Clara Schultz on Buckeye street. Mr QO Wynn of Cedar Rapids Iowa visits Mr T KE McDowell east of town. Wynn’s sister Amanda will join him westward. Mr H H Cully Miss Clara Dague Gertie Pope and Clara Miller attend Canal Fulton High School commencement. Harvest machine agents from Dalton promote new ideas to farmers. Prices listed: Wheat per bushel, Butter per pound, Eggs per dozen, Lard per pound, Coffee per pound.

Walter Tedrow died at home in West Brookfield Saturday morning after a reported railroad accident near Rittman last Wednesday. He had worked as a blacksmith in Rittman and is survived by a sister Mrs Ralston of West Brookfield and brothers John of Chicago and Clarence of this place. Funeral services were held Monday at the house with Rev. Petty, interment in Dalton cemetery.

Rev. W. V. Marsh a Canton district supervisor for the Ohio Anti-Saloon League died suddenly in Chicago last week. He had spoken in local churches and resigned his Canton position this spring due to ill health. He was related to Geo. Treet and had many friends here.

The Ladies Aid Society will hold a festival in Stanwood on Saturday night June 7 1913. Ice cream cake strawberries and other delicacies will be served. Music by the title Reg't band of Dalton.

The county jury commission led by Frank Gearheart, Harry Newman, A. W. Smyser and Wm. Bixler completed work at noon last Thursday. They drafted 200 names from across the county townships for the next year’s jurors, listing recipients from Sugarcreek and Baughman townships among others.
Last Wednesday at the First Christian church in Canton Henry Pflug and Mary Gochnauer of Massillon were married. The bride is the second daughter of Mr and Mrs S J Gochnauer, formerly of Massillon.

Possession given at signing with balance due on mortgage deferred payments to the seller.
The Dalton area announces a busy religious and community schedule. A concert by Coming, Human Brothers targets the M. E. church Tuesday evening June 10. The Sunday School convention meets at Salem church June 17 and a Worth League Convention at Orrville Ohio June 17 and 18. An assembly at the M. E. church June 8 precedes baptismal rites and the quarterly conference with Dr W B Slutz preaching. Children’s Day is set for June 15 with evening services invited.
The United Presbyterian choir and orchestra delivered a strong patriotic program last Friday night in Dalton. T. E. McDowell directed the choir, W. J. Williams led the orchestra, and standout performances included Grace Owens on trap drums, Margery Owens vibraphone, and Claire McAfee vocal. A pantomime by Mildred Hogsatt and Grace Gardiner impressed, while Ruth and Dorothy Hollinger of Massillon drew encores. Proceeds totaled 43.75 dollars.
