Mrs Tyrrell Fractures Ankle After Home Fall
Mrs William Tyrrell fractured both bones of her left ankle in a fall at home Monday afternoon. She was taken to Massillon city hospital where the ankle was placed in a cast. She was moved last evening to the home of her parents in Brewster.

At the Dalton Post VoF W Ladies Auxiliary meeting last Thursday figures discussed planning a gift for Dalton Memorial Park. Mrs Florida Yeaman and Mrs Anna Weikert were named to meet with the Post committee. A drive for new members opens Sept 1 and closes Jan. A candy treat will be taken to 200 veterans at Massillon State Hospital on Aug 18. The next auxiliary meeting is Sept 8.

A large crowd attended the Sugar Creek Grange picnic at Dalton Park on Thursday evening. Rev FTM Marker compared farming in Iran with the United States. Pomona Grange had been invited to join the Sugar Creek Grange meeting. A special meeting is set for Friday September 9 at 9 PM to finalize exhibit plans for the Wayne County Faire.

Methodists Host August Meeting at Mrs Cuirdner’s Home
Mrs Jasper Cuirdner hosted 21 Methodists for the August meeting with Mrs Tloyd Poorman leading devotions on Spreading His Light in Burma. Supplies were sent to Nome Alaska and missions in Webster Grove Mo. Meals included strawberries and cream angel food cake and lemonade.

He noted foods fruits and vegetables, local occupations, and people’s management traits with witty remarks.
