Sunday School Picnic and Men’s Outing Draw Big Crowd
Rain did not dampen the day as about 300 picnickers boarded trains to Myers lake. Massillon and Greenville departures joined the group using electric cars to reach the grounds by 8 15. Afternoon athletics included races, a ball game won by the single men 4 0, and various contests with prizes. The day ended with boating and bathing and returning home tired but happy.

Two Concerts at Salem Church by Bluffton College Quartette
The Bluffton College Quartette will give two concerts at the Salem church Sonnenberg tonight and tomorrow night August 14 and 15. State Highway Department at Columbus announced four additional roads slated for paving. Routes from Dalton corporation line to Linton Sugarcreek line cover 3 1 4 miles with two petitions. Sugarcreek township will gain near full paving except 75 rods in Dalton west end. Dalton will pave about 75 rods to finish the main road through Sugarcreek township from west corporation line to East Union line. The State Highway Department at Columbus ordered survey and prep for the segment from west to east, linking Stark county line paving to the east corporation line. Dalton’s Main Street connects 244 miles of paving and must proceed to create an unbroken paved route.
