Medwick Seen As Most Troublesome NL Batter
National League pitchers name Joe Medwick as the hardest hitter to face. The Cardinals outfielder, 5 feet 9 inches and 180 pounds, combines power with a .333 career average and record runs batted in. His late-season slump once prevented him from the 1936 title, but his 188 RBIs and 64 doubles in a season mark him as a premier slugger. Medwick aims to win the league batting crown.
