Loss In 4 Fires Set At $65,000

Four fires last week in Clermont County caused about $65,000 in damage. A Murray Seasongood summer home at Nine Mile Road near New Richmond was destroyed by faulty wiring, discovered by a Civil Air Patrol pilot. Firefighters from Amelia Williamsville Pierce Township and Union Township battled blazes, leaving several families homeless and damaging multiple residences including the Glen Este Race Bowl property near Cincinnati.

Attorney Given Time In Married Student Case

The District Court of Appeals gave George Heitzler two days to present more evidence to bar 17 year old Donna Alt from Loveland High School classes. The Loveland board cited a rule against married students for potential disruption. Alt, who married 21 year old Ted Alt last May, lives with her parents as her husband serves in the US Army in France.

Clermont County Man Dies In Dozer Embankment Mishap

George Siler a 35 year old Clermont County resident died after a bulldozer he operated toppled over a 70 foot embankment at 4740 Ashtree Drive Cincinnati He died at Christ Hospital about eleven hours after the incident He worked for West and Bartell Construction Co.

Firefighters Fight Massive Blaze in Loveland Area

Loveland and Mt. Repose fire crews battled the blaze for nearly three hours. Water from a lake was pumped to wet the main house and outbuildings to prevent further sparks. Loss was estimated at 8000 dollars.

Cancer Unit Plans Branch Organizations In This Area

Clermont County volunteers push to establish branch ACS offices in key locales to expand outreach and social services. At a Milford meeting, committee members including Margaret Summers and Carl Reiser outlined goals to widen education and patient help programs. Jerry Herter of Cincinnati was elected to the ACS Ohio Division Board of Trustees to represent southern Ohio counties in state-wide cancer control planning.

Youth In Hospital After Gun Mishap

Ronnie McIntosh, 13, of Railroad Ave, lies in fair condition at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital after emergency surgery to remove a .22 caliber bullet from his back. Police say the shooting was accidental and two boys and a 16 year old girl were questioned.

Medical Society Endorses Clermont TB Levy

The Clermont County Medical Society at its September meeting urged residents to vote for a 0.3 mill TB levy to fund care and treatment of hospitalized tuberculosis patients. Landlord Tenant Fight Triggers Multiple Warrants

A Sunday dispute on Carnes Rd near New Richmond between Richard and Daisy Heinrich and William and Rena Breeden led to three arrest warrants with Sheriff Clyde B. Dericks, and a fourth expected. The conflict began when the Heinrichs tried to view the Breeden home. injuries included a leg wound to Heinrich and an arm cut to Breeden.
