Cancer Society Elects President
Fred F. Stapf has been elected president of the reactivated Clermont County Unit of the American Cancer Society Ohio Division. The unit will continue its service program with a public education phase to raise cancer awareness and promote regular examinations. Medical advisers are Dr. Richard N Carr and Dr. Avin Friedman. Mrs. Richard D Carr assists. other officers include Mrs. Romaine Wingo and Mrs. Flora Ruffner. Stapf leads Clermont Industries in Williamsburg with wife and two children.

Chest Clinic Board Abandons Tax Suit
Clermont County Chest Clinic trustees announced they will not pursue a taxpayer's suit to challenge the exclusion of the clinic from TB tax levy support. After talks with county officials and health groups, they determined the TB levy funds plus a $12,000 general fund allocation should cover indigent TB hospitalization and allow maintenance of the clinic through the rest of this year and likely 1962.

Well Known Teacher and Coach Dies at 44
Ernie M. Havrilla 44 of Owensville died Wednesday at Christ Hospital after a week with pneumonia and a heart attack. Five Injured As Auto Clins Pole Near Perintown
Five Cincinnatians were injured early Monday when their car left Rt. 50 and struck a utility pole near Perintown. Newtonsville and North Union life squads freed the victims after about 90 minutes. Pastor Rejected Again as County Caseworker
The Rev. James W. Sheckler of Batavia Church of the Nazarene was twice turned down for a county welfare Caseworker post. Welfare Advisory Board members recommended him over two other applicants, Mrs Dorothy Clark and Collard Deel.
