The Batavia Garden Club hosted its fourth annual Flower Show at the Armory with hundreds of visitors viewing blooms and displays. Judges Mrs. D. B. Phillips and Clarence Cowperthwaite presided. Mrs. E. S. Rueh won the sweepstake Telecron clock among 800 entries. Ribbons awarded to many residents including Mrs. E. S. Rueh and Miss Marguerite Haney.

Burglars entered the Snider Flour Mill in Owensville Friday night stealing a typewriter an adding machine and several sacks of flour. They damaged the safe combination and left no clue. Owensville Protective Association oversees the investigation.

Lindsey hurled a two to one victory for Batavia over the Cincinnati Builders at Amelia to clinch the Cler mont County League championship. He allowed just three hits while Anstead starred in the field and at the plate. Batavia scored in the fourth and eighth frames. the Builders lone run came in the eighth. Barbers Set County Price Rise Under State Code
Barbers in Batavia and surrounding county met Monday night and voted to accept a state barber code fixing shaves at 25 cents and haircuts at 40 cents. About 75 percent of local barbers have signed, with the plan to enforce two weeks after the governor signs the bill.

Two Goshen youths charged in home burglary
Joseph Weibel and Edward Hammont, both 17 of Goshen, are jailed in Batavia for entering the home of Henry Burns and Julius Maerl near Goshen and stealing a gold watch and chain, two diamonds, and other jewelry valued at 200 dollars. Fingerprints were found, and the youths confessed after fingerprint expert George Schuttle identified them. They were bound over to the grand jury in juvenile cases.
