The Ninety Ninth annual Sovereign Grand Lodge of Odd Fellows closes in Cincinnati after five days with secret sessions and a public parade. A junior branch for youths 14 and up is postponed to after the Jacksonville convention. Next year’s meeting will be in Jacksonville Florida.

Oldest Odd Fellow Joins parade at 94 in Cincinnati
Julius Martin of near Loveland, aged 94, the oldest Odd Fellow, marched in the Wednesday parade. He joined the order at 21 and has 78 years of membership. His lodge arranged his trip to Cincinnati for the convention and he received a place of honor. Some older brothers unable to march were driven by automobile.

Time Reverts to Standard as Summer Ends Sunday
On Sunday September 30 clocks will return to Standard Time and all schedules align. Railroads and cities prepare to switch as daylight saving time ends and the summer period concludes.
Fire destroys Cochran shop and mill at Hamersville
Monday near noon Hamersville residents raced to the scene where Lt. Cochran’s blacksmith shop and feed mill burned to the ground along with a Ford car in the garage. The cause is unknown and the loss is total with no insurance.

Poultry Demonstrations Show Big Gaps in August Eggs
Reports from Clermont Farm Bureau detail August poultry results with the top five flocks averaging 16.1 eggs and the bottom five 9.5 eggs, a 6.6 egg gap per hen. the best group included three White Leghorns and two other flocks, while the worst mixed several White Rocks Buff Leghorn White Leghorn and Rhode Island Red.
