Carl Rich to Speak at Goshen Republican Rally

A Goshen school gymnasium event hosts Republican rally next Tuesday night September 29 at 8 PM. Carl Rich of Cincinnati will deliver the main address with a women’s message from the state bureau. Milford Band will provide music as about 350 attendees heard Attorney George Kearns and James W. Walker discuss local prosecuting attorney race and prior campaign charges.

Drunk Driver Fined After Olive Branch Wreck

Frank Gates aged 42 and Price Hillman were jailed by Deputy Sheriff Tom Brooks for driving while intoxicated causing a wreck at Olive Branch. Gates pleaded guilty and paid a 25 dollar fine plus costs to Justice Warren Liston, then was released.

New drivers licenses are on sale at 15 locations in Clermont County with a October first deadline for all auto operators to obtain the new licenses. Plan changes in basketball this season

Clermont county prepares a round robin schedule for both girls and boys basketball. The girls tournament will feature the top four league finishers with a county championship trophy for the winner. The boys tournament will follow usual lines, enhanced by the round robin format. The athletic committee chaired by P. G. Meranda met to set the schedule, with L. G. Amelia Baptist Church chicken supper at Amelia school

Classes 6 and 6 of the Amelia Baptist church sponsor a chicken supper in the Amelia school dining room on Friday evening September 26. Dinner will be served from 6 to 9 pm with a plate price of 85 cents. Menu includes creamed chicken sweet potatoes lima beans tomato salad rolls butter coffee and home made ice cream. Seek 24300 From Oil Firm The Rauscher Brothers

The Rauscher Brothers Company of Milford gasoline and oil dealers were named defendants in a common pleas court suit by the State Superintendent of Banks to recover 24300 said to be due the Washington Bank and Trust Company of Cincinnati on notes secured by mortgage. The Washington Bank is in liquidation. The petition filed by Maxwell and Ramsey of Cincinnati and Davis Ely Ely of Battavia states 19700 due on a note dated April 8 1927 and 4600 due on a note dated December 19 1922.

Bantam School Destroyed by Overnight Fire

A two story brick Bantam school house abandoned due to township consolidation was destroyed by a fire early Monday morning. The blaze began around 1 30 am and the cause remains unknown. Insurance fully covers the loss. the 1878 building had been slated for public sale Monday afternoon.
