A large Milford GOP rally drew an estimated six to seven hundred attendees last Thursday night. Thur man Miller humorist from Wilmington spoke along with Miriam Romaine Cincinnati attorney urging women voters to back a Republican year. Congress candidate Emory Smith visited and spoke. Republicans open Batavia headquarters in Jamieson Building

Clermont County Republicans opened their central campaign headquarters in the Jamieson Building on Main Street Batavia. The county central committee met with candidates to outline plans for the campaign and the office will operate daily except Sunday.

Bricker Campaign Open Kickoff At Mt Sterling Rally

The Republican Party of Ohio will launch the campaign at Mt. Sterling with Attorney General John W. Bricker leading a noon barbecue and speeches. Henry J. Allen of Kansas will speak for the national ticket. program broadcasts begin at 2 p.m. on stations across the state. Bricker, a Mt. Sterling native, draws over 25 000 attendees expected from all counties.

Hause Is Named Reunion Chairman

L. G. Hause, new Goshen School superintendent, was elected president of the annual Goshen Homecoming at Labor Day. Aur aelia Cook was chosen secretary treasurer succeeding Mrs. Ray Irwin. Over 200 attendees gathered at the school grounds for visits and a dance in the evening.

State Plans Re Surface of Route No 50

State Representative John Hayden announced a major resurfacing of Route 50 from Owensville to the Brown county line at Marathon covering about 7 1/2 miles. The project aims for a high grade finish described as a boulevard once completed and is expected to start within ten days of formal approval. Mt Carmel sidewalk work is slated to begin by October 1 after rights of way issues are resolved.

First annual Mt Carmel reunion held Labor Day at the school grounds drew over 250 attendees from Ohio Pennsylvania Kentucky and Tennessee. A permanent Labor Day sponsoring group formed with Mrs Albert Tschira New Richmond as president and Miss Agnes Walker 81 the oldest former teacher present. Tom Matthews 88 a former pupil from Newtown AR 1 attended now noting 80 years since his attendance. The Ranger Boy Scout Troop performed an Indian ceremony at the lake in the evening.
