Floater Found in Ohio River Near New Richmond
A body was found floating in the Ohio River about 100 yards from the Kentucky shore opposite New Richmond. Allen Gross located the corpse and moved it to White’s undertaking in New Richmond. Coroner Mitchell held an inquest. The man was about six feet tall, 160 pounds, around 80 years old, with 15 cents, a knife, a screwdriver, and a bottle opener in his pockets.

In Memory of Francis Pohl Civil War Comrade
Francis Pohl born in Austria December 14 1843 came to America at age nine. He enlisted August 16 1861 in Co K O V I served four years and was honorably discharged July 27 1865. He married Mary E Kreiger May 29 1866 and lived in Williamsburg over fifty years. He joined G A R January 31 1883 and died September 7 1911 at 67 years 8 months. He was known for honesty and courage and service to town and country. He leaves a wife and many relatives and friends to mourn his loss.
