Local Man Injured In Street Car Collision

A street car and automobile crash early Tuesday injured six people and shook up 14 passengers on the Lockland line. Driver Edward Callicoat of Batavia suffered shoulder and neck bruises after being thrown into a cab door. car and tram were derailed as traffic lights were out at 2 35 a m due to a 2 a m shutoff.

Baseball Game Set Between Old Timers and Youngsters

A Sunday game is scheduled at the Owensville Fair Grounds at 2 30 p m between the Old Timers of Clermont County and the younger group who played all summer. Manager Ray Schuster of the Owensville Baseball Team will pitch for the Old Timers and Lloyd Lohr will be at first base.

Brown County Fair Opens October 2 in Georgetown Ohio

The 95th Brown County Fair opens October 2 at Georgetown Fair grounds in Ohio. The event features livestock displays floral exhibits and farm equipment. A redesigned floral hall and a new barn for saddle horses accompany three days of races shows and a midway for visitors.

Clermont Courier Subscription Contest Aims Local Sponsors

A new Clermont Courier subscription drive is rolled out in county communities and Newtown with local sponsors like PTA or Boy Scouts. The contest runs until October 15 and awards the entire commission to the selling group with The Courier funding the grand prize. Next week sponsors will be announced.

Republican rally in Georgetown draws record crowd

A large Republican rally at the Brown County Fair grounds in Georgetown features top state figures. Speakers include former Governor John W. Bricker and candidate for Governor Thomas J. The Clermont Courier Photo Contest extends to October 30 with a new snap shot competition open to non professionals. Previous second prize of 3 dollars and a 12 month subscription prize are noted. first prize remains five dollars cash.

Farm Bureau Meeting Draws Local and Regional Attendee

Ezra Anstaett formerly of Batavia now in Columbus attended the Farm Bureau meeting at Highland Park. He left for Denver to join a state meeting aimed at aiding farmers in investments and shielding them from wild cat securities, and is making good in his work.

Legion horse show to highlight Owensville fair weekend

Williamsburg Legion sponsors horse show and carnival at Owensville Fair Grounds September 26 27 28 with rides concessions and events nightly. Entries come from across the region and include a Tennessee Walker shown by L V Nowlin of Batavia with rider Barbara Wire of Texas.

Three Parties Included On Ballot In Clermont County

By Wednesday evening the filing of resolutions for tax levies and bond issues in Clermont County should be complete though Sept 26 marks the last day for bond filings. Attorney Forrest E. Ely planned to file a 75 000 resolution for Goshen school improvements. The Felicity Franklin District seeks a 60 000 bond for improvements after a May defeat. November levies include Williamsville Tabasco 2 mills, Perintown renewal 2 mills, Bethel Tate 2 mills, Milford Village 2 mills plus 1 4 mill for indebtedness, Bethel 2 mills for hydrant rental, Branch Hill 3 mill renewal, and Miami Rural 3 mill renewal. City Loan opens Batavia branch on Main Street

The City Loan announces a new Batavia office on Main Street next to the 5c and 10c store. Charles Schneider, formerly assistant manager in Norwood, is named manager with Helen Parrish as chief clerk. The firm offers loans from 10 to 1000 on various securities and operates an appliance-finance division. Established in 1912, it runs 96 offices across Ohio with nearly 28 million dollars in assets.
