Eisenhower visits Cincinnati for rally and parade

General Dwight D. Eisenhower plans to arrive in Cincinnati at 7 20 p m next Monday and speak briefly outside Union Terminal before joining a torchlight parade to Music Hall. Senator Robert A Taft will introduce him at 8 30 p m Mrs Stanley Currier of Citizens for Eisenhower urges Clermont Countians to attend and bring brooms for the Crusade meeting.

Rate Boost Sought By Phone Company in Clermont County

The Cincinnati and Suburban Bell Co filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio for authority to raise telephone rates across its Ohio operating area including Clermont County. Proposed flat rates vary by residence and business in Batavia Milford Bethel Roveland New Richmond Newtonsville Williamsburg areas with increases from five to ten cents on coin messages and higher service connection charges. Loveland Corporal Awarded Bronze Star In Korea

Corporal Raymond McDonough of Loveland received the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in Korea. He helped lay barbed wire under enemy fire from April 15 to 22 while serving with the 40th Infantry Division's 223rd Regiment. His actions strengthened positions along the main line of resistance, inspiring comrades and preventing allied casualties. He enlisted in 1951 and is stationed in Korea this year.

Doctor Charged With Obtaining Narcotics By Subterfuge

Dr. Frederick S. Skeen of Clermont County faced a grand jury last week on a charge of obtaining narcotics by subterfuge. He pleaded not guilty and waived examination at a bedside hearing before Batavia Mayor J. F. Paschal while confined by illness. The Ohio Narcotics Bureau charged by Jack Braunstein.

Six Juvenile Gang Members Arrested

Six youths from a local juvenile gang were arrested by Police Chief Charles Spaulding and Juvenile Probation Officer Fred Holt for stealing car accessories looting stores and boats tied up on the river The ringleader was captured after a Sunday escape from a stolen car Loot included gasoline cans ammunition gum and alcoholic beverages Probate Judge Orville Halbisch will hear the cases Gate to be announced later A Williams Corner youth was sentenced this week to the Boys Industrial School Lancaster for a speeding crash injuring five persons on Route 28.

Sheriff Seeks Suspect After Cafe Stabbing in Batavia

Sheriff Clyde Dericks hunts a man accused of stabbing Russell Brown 25 of Mt Carmel in a cafe near Amelia. The wounded man was rushed to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital Mariemont. The suspect remains at large outside the county.
