Health Board Meets in Clermont County Ohio 1919

Bryan to Speak in Batavia and Local Events
William Jennings Bryan will address Batavia at the town hall on October 6 at 10 30 to defend the prohibition cause. A day later Batavia hosts the season’s banner ball game with the Lynchburg team and a band concert beforehand. The county normal opened with 15 students. sickness delays start until September 29. The Main Street bridge will be repaired with new floor, bolts tightened, and treated lumber for longer wear.

Two Mill Road Levy Proposed by Clermont County Officials
Clermont county commissioners approved a resolution to place a two mill levy on all taxable property for one year, to be voted on November 4, 1919. Horses Killed In Indiana to North Carolina Car Load
Last Thursday on the N W road a car load of government horses from Indiana to North Carolina escaped at Batavia after feeding. Nine tried to cross a railroad bridge. seven jumped and were killed. One was saved by striking telephone wires. Appraisers valued the 12 horses at 115 to 150 apiece and they were turned over to a private party for hides.
