Fluid milk sales regulations announced by government
The Game Management Section of the Ohio Division of Conservation and Natural Resources reports 30 075 four week old pheasants distributed in Ohio this year under a policy to involve 4 H club boys Yo Ag students and farm youth in pheasant rearing. The program, replacing pheasant eggs, combines with game farm distributions to approach the normal total for the division.

Vinson, U S stabilization director, proposed with the Office of Price Administration a food price reduction plan to cut living costs another 2 percent toward September 15 1942 levels, stacking with prior 1 percent cuts. The proposal, ready for operation, would subsidies up to 100 million dollars funded by government agencies and affect lard vegetables oils apples oranges onions peanut butter and potatoes with subsidies and support prices plus transport subsidies.

Williamsburg Man Fatally Burned By Gas Tank Fire
James Malott, 75, of Williamsburg, was fatally burned Monday when a gasoline tank he was filling at home caught fire. Carrying the flaming tank downstairs, his clothing ignited and he inhaled flames. Bystanders smothered the flames. he died en route to a Cincinnati hospital. Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles Carpenter and Mrs. Joe Windsor.

Gunner-Sergeant Receives Wings At Harlingen School
Charles A. Reid of Owensville, son of Joseph Reid, graduated from the Harlingen flexible gunnery school as an expert aerial trigger man after six weeks of training. He earned the silver wings, was promoted to sergeant, and completed trials firing every weapon type, including .50 caliber Brownings, on towed targets and in Texan planes.

Brown County Man Suspects in Murder Case
Brown County native Robert Hatfield, 26, suspected in the murder of Ironton garage owner Charles C. Addis. Addis disappeared May 12 after leaving with a stranger. Addis’s body was found May 15 near Otway. Hatfield, a London Prison Farm fugitive, was arrested in Philadelphia and returned for questioning. Sheriff Brandel said Hatfield would be brought to Scioto County Jail this week.

Thousands line the Dravo shipyard banks at Pittsburg to witness the first destroyer of its type launched by the Navy. Mrs Maurice F Jenks christens the vessel in honor of her son Lieut Henry Pease Jenks of White Plains New York who died aboard the cruiser Atlanta in the Solomons battle of 1942. After outfitting the Jenks will travel 2000 miles down the Ohio and Mississippi to the sea.
