Newtonsville girl crowned Fall Festival queen at Milford

Gail Harrison, 16, Milford high school senior, will be crowned queen of the Chamber of Commerce Fall Festival tonight after a parade. Theresa Rein of St. Andrew school serves as attendant. The ninth annual event runs through Saturday with a children’s dog parade, a grid contest, and hourly prizes culminating in a new car Saturday night.

Men Arrested After Milford Inn Bar Holdup Chase

Two suspects connected to a $140 holdup at Milford MoTour Inn drive in theater were captured after a 90 mph chase. Earl Morton Hunter Jr. and Lawrence T. Thiel were arrested at Newtown after a mud stained escape from a stolen Cleveland car. Police recovered $99 in cash from the car and shoes.

Station To Air Interviews With Clermont Courier

Four taped interviews with staff from The Courier will be aired on WRFD Worthington over the next days. Bill Arthurs news editor will broadcast one tape at 1 p.m. Saturday on Buckeye Viewpoint. Several events including the Milford Fall Festival homecoming at Pleasant Plain and Amelia Community Institute to be discussed on Sundial 8 to 11 a.m. and Motorists’ M at 3 to 5 40 p.m. on the next days. Bank Bids Low On County Bonds Totaling Forty Thousand

The First National Bank of Batavia was the low bidder Friday on county obligation bonds totaling 40 000. The county will use 20 000 to pay notes for the recent courthouse annex improvement and 20 000 for remodeling the County Home.

Nine Hurt Sunday In Two Crashes

Nine people were injured in two separate accidents Sunday in the county. Carl T. Gray and a passenger were hurt when Gray’s car hit Clarence Mullenix’s auto. Mullenix suffered nose and wrist fractures. Sharp’s car overturned after a collision with Ford’s auto. Sharp and Ford, both from Branch Hill and Florence residents, face Loveland officials over the incident.

County to Name Advisory Board for Welfare Dept

Clermont County commissioners will appoint a Welfare Advisory Board to aid Sam Ausman county welfare director. The Clermont County Farmers Union proposed a list of candidates but the panel will be chosen from a broader, more representative pool.

Bus inspection of all Clermont County school buses begins September 19 with Patrolman H E Voelker overseeing the 106 vehicles. Families in Need Appeal for Appliances in Clermont County

The Clermont County Chapter of the American Red Cross seeks a gas stove refrigerator and a cabinet for dishes for the Robert E. Smith family of Denham Hill Road whose home burned down while they were away. They have three young children. In a separate loss, Mr and Mrs Walden Elmore and four children lost their Milford area home in a Sunday blaze.

Two Girls Take Honors In AKC Junior Division

Two New Richmond girls won honors in AKC junior showmanship at major all breed shows. Carol Danner won first in Louisville and Cincinnati and second in Covington handling Cairn Terrier Thumbelina of Clermont. Edwina Flood placed fourth in the 8 to 12 girls class at Covington with Dalmatian Dinah Duchess.
