Ability Recognized Miss Hendrixson Takes City Teaching Post
Miss Cecile Hendrixson of Felicity has accepted a teaching post in Cincinnati Church Schools for Weekday Religious Instruction under the Hamilton County Council of Religious Education. A 1927 Cincinnati Missionary Training School graduate, she also holds a 1924 Lake Geneva Leadership Training Summer School diploma. The Clermont County Religious Training Camp dean for four years, she has served with the Young Peoples Division. The Clermont Council regrets losing her volunteer work but wishes her success in the broader service.

Sheriff Fred Croswell Deputy Robert Roberts and W E Kain arrest Bert Cullum and Rufus Meek of Wayne township for transporting and possession of liquor after seizing 25 gallons of whisky purchased in Oakley. Cullum pleads guilty and is fined 400 dollars Meek 500 dollars. Other raids arrest Chas Allison and Harry Hill on liquor charges with 1000 dollar bonds. W H Barker, 80 years old, faces penitentiary for third offense after liquor raids. 80 dozen quarts of home brew seized from Chas Merice near Mt Carmel and jailed.

Home Burns in Batavia Destroys Family House
George Johnson, a Batavia resident, lost his home Friday afternoon to a fire caused by a defective flue. The frame structure burned quickly. neighbors battled low water pressure but saved some belongings. The family of eleven had just paid off the house and has no insurance.

Jail Break Fails to Hold Prisoner as dummy escapes
John Crawford a 48 year old grand larceny suspect posed as a dummy after lockup. He allegedly crafted a wire key to unlock cells and corridors, escaping from the sheriff's custody after a late night band concert in Newport Kentucky. Crawford, held on a grand jury bound over, has prior Virginia penitentiary time.

William H. Schwab of Batavia died Saturday morning after weeks of illness. He helped form the Rapp and Schwab hardware firm and retired several years ago. He leaves a widow and several siblings. Funeral services will be at the U B Church Tuesday with burial in Union Cemetery.
