Milford home damaged by fire at cash street blaze
An early Thursday morning fire on 135 Cash St Milford caused about 2000 dollars damage to a two family home owned by Albert O Connor. The fire started in the kitchen when Wallace DeMarcia was preparing breakfast and was blamed on a kerosene cook stove. Most damage was to the kitchen and a second floor bedroom. Assistant Fire Chief Arthur Taylor led the investigation and fire crews.

Area Annexed To New Richmond
The Village of New Richmond extended its boundaries two miles along U S Route 52 after county commissioners approved a petition signed by fifty property owners led by John R Hahn. The annexed area includes Clermontville, enabling fire and police protection and lower insurance. Tax rates rise from 18 to 24 per thousand as water service continues.

Youth Held In Cattle Theft Near Bethel
A one year old youth was arrested by Sheriff Clyde Dericks and jailed in Clermont County on charges of stealing seven yearling steers from the John D. Bee farm near Bethel. Bee reported the loss after discovering stock missing last Thursday morning. The youth, who lives near Salt Air, will appear before Judge Orville Halbisch of the Juvenile Court.
