R B Cruickshank of Ohio State University advises planting tulips hyacinths narcissus daffodils and jonquils now through ground freeze in good soil at depths of 1.5 to 2 times bulb height spacing 4 to 8 inches. Pleads Guilty in Labor Day Fatal at Bradley Farm

County soil fertility meetings praised by Prof. Bachtell
Nine meetings drew 270 attendees across the county. Nearly 150 soil samples were tested for acidity, with all but three showing acidity. Findings highlighted lime needs on some mildly acidic soils and that organic matter and proper drainage support clover and alfalfa growth. Prof. Bachtell urged testing limestone on Clermont farms and using native stone for that purpose. He demonstrated that heavy sods and hay fed on farms make acid phosphate the primary fertilizer once a good farming system is in place. Farmers shared experiences at informal barnyard meetings, and county agents offered help to anyone studying soil fertility.

Colored Man Delaney Takes His Life In Hillsboro
William Henry Delaney a colored man of Hillsboro killed himself with a revolver last week after a long illness. He had worked in one place for 20 years and left a note to his wife saying no one knows the cause of his departure. He suffered stomach troubles thought to be stomach cancer.
