Edwin Dericks son of Clermont County Sheriff Clyde Dericks married Nelda Reed Sunday afternoon at Kossuth Church. Rev. John C. Clasper and Rev. C O. Good officiated. Bridesmaids included Wanda Dericks and Mrs. Joe Myers. Couple plans honeymoon to the Smoky Mountains and will reside in Milford. Examination announced for Clermont County Welfare Director post

Miss Gertrude Jones and Carl W. Smith of the State Civil Service Commission announce an open competitive examination for the Clermont County Welfare Department director. The test will be held at the Batavia courthouse on Sept 30 and is limited to Clermont residents.

Services Held For Officers Killed On Leyte

The body of Flight Officer Charles A. Smith killed May 17 1945 on Leyte Island was returned last week and services were held by the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Craver Funeral Home. County roads planned for drag-top resurfacing

Batavia Amends Law to Allow Fall Leaf Burning

Batavia Village Council approved a fall season amendment to permit burning of leaves in gutters or on private property from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in September and October without a permit, while keeping restrictions requiring permits for other burns and supervised use of approved metal receptacles. The council also authorized purchasing street signs to mark intersections.
