Dairymen face large pasture losses in Clermont County drought
Clermont County dairy farmers report about 40 percent loss of pasture this summer amid a nine week drought. Officials say disaster loans may help if conditions persist, with 20 percent soybean losses and 20 percent tobacco losses, while corn and hay suffer smaller declines. The emergency board toured croplands August 28 and noted county wide average losses near 20 percent, with some fields hit harder.
