County Faces Water Shortage Amid Breakdowns and Drought

Clermont County officials warn of tight water supplies as ongoing drought and plant breakdowns strain pumps at Pierce-Union-Batavia and other facilities. A recent 3 hour outage halted 800000 gallons of potential supply, while two pumps were out last week. Officials urge residents and industries to conserve, aiming to cut usage by 200000 gallons daily to prevent a broader ban. Construction of a new well is underway but not expected to offset current shortages soon.
