Clermont County officials approved a plan for bridge construction with work to begin soon. The action follows a summer of heat and a return from summer break for local students as commissioners move forward with the project.
The Felicity festival kicks off Friday at 4 p.m. with a 50 Saving Bond donation from the Felicity Businessmen’s Association. Contests run from 5 to 7 p.m including frog jumping wheelbarrow race and baby competition with entry fees and prizes. Saturday features street dancing and a junior contest with similar age groups. Sunday hosts a flower show in the new gym foyer and an antique car parade with Gospel program. Contact details for organizers are provided.
The 7.9 mill levy will appear on the New Richmond ballot though it may not sustain the district through 1978. Clerk Mitchell says, We're down to the wire. About 33 thousand dollars was diverted from other budgets to buy workbooks and classroom supplies for the eleventh November. A prior 7.9 operating levy failed in June, and the board met in executive session to interview superintendent candidates, with no decision reached.
The Clough Valley Chapter marks Constitution week with a Yeatman’s Cove riverfront tour and a Covington walking tour on Saturday Sept 17 at 11 am. Clermont College LCs near Batavia lists fall registration Sept 19 9 am to 4 30 pm with extended hours Sept 21-22 and late registration Sept 26-30.
