Man Ended Suffering With Shotgun Suicide In Summit Area
Peter Clare, about 65, suffered long from stomach cancer and ended his life with a double barreled shotgun in a corn field near Summit last Wednesday noon. He had moved from Cincinnati years ago to the Kline farm, later boarding with Will Griman’s family. he left a widow and several children and was buried in Union cemetery Thursday.

Death of Russell Stamm Boy in Georgetown
Russell Stamm, 16, son of Lank Stamm foreman at the News-Democrat, died at Georgetown Saturday after a long illness and was buried Monday. Crazy Jim Locked Up on Lunacy Charge in Batavia
A man calling himself Jim, nicknamed Crazy Jim, appeared in Batavia three weeks ago posing as a harness maker. He rented a room, set up a small business, and after taunts he armed himself but harmed no one. Last Thursday probate court declared him insane and he is held for Pennsylvania relatives believed wealthy. The 65 year old man will be cared for by his home state.
