About 2,000 people attended the Owensville Fairgrounds rodeo over Sunday and Labor Day to aid underprivileged Lake Allyn children. New Richmond Kiwanis Festival Ends With Big Crowd
The three day Kiwanis Festival in New Richmond closed September 2 under unusually cool weather. A large Labor Day crowd attended. Prize winner of the 1946 Chevrolet Sedan was Robert Hillard of Twelve Mile Road near New Richmond. A 20 gauge shotgun and shells were also given away, but the winning ticket had not been presented.

Man admits threatening Newtown woman bound over
At a hearing before Mayor Geo F Rabe W Wakeman of Camp Washington pleaded guilty to threatening Mrs Ola Walker of Newtown. He denied shooting into her home last week and was bound over to the grand jury on a shooting with intent to kill charge. The incident began with shotgun blasts at the Walker home early August 25 leaving family shaken and prompting threats by phone.

Drivers licenses go on sale in Batavia
Licenses for drivers and chauffeurs go on sale September 9 at the deputy registrar’s office on Spring Street Batavia. Applicants must show a 1946 license or obtain a duplicate and those under 18 must be with a guardian. Chauffeurs need a new 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inch photo with a white bottom band. Fees are 40 cents for operators and 90 cents for chauffeurs. Deadlines run to September 30.

Vets Farm Training Program to Open in Clermont County
