Wind Storm Hits Town in August 1896

A severe wind storm on Saturday night destroyed shade trees, caused damage along the creek, and shattered several buildings. Frank Brown's barn lost one side of its roof as the rain followed.

Federal crop insurance for winter wheat is available at the Clermont County Agricultural Conservation office or through authorized agents. Shotgun attack targets Newtown mother. suspect released on bond

Mrs Ola Walker and her two children slept at 36 Plum Street when four shotgun blasts struck their home in Newtown at about 1 am. W. Wakeman of Camp Washington was arrested, denied charges, and released on a $1000 bond. Walker alleges prior threats by her landlord, who also faced scrutiny. Investigations span Newtown and Hamilton County officials.

Burglary Hits Milford Store In 1921 Entry

Robbers entered Rosenzweig's department store in Milford by a rear window early Friday morning and stole about $20 from the cash register. Dress shirts and other merchandise were scattered on the floor. This 25 years ago report notes the incident occurred August 31, 1921.

United Automobile Workers union members picketed Danbury Service Station in Williamsburg from Monday to Saturday over Trailmobile drivers. A meeting between CIO Trailmobile and AFL Danbury representatives led to the halt of picketing.
