Conservation Air Tour Planned by Clermont District Officials

Don Siebern announces completion of plans for the Clermont Soil and Water Conservation District Air Tour set for Saturday September 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Two routes will be flown with helicopter rides available at Fisher Airport two miles west of Williamsburg. The Air Tour Committee includes Paul Calebaugh chair and Cody Poston among others. additional committee members are listed.

County Opens Bids On Two Clermont Projects

Clermont County Commission bids on two projects show Byrnes Conwy Co Cincinnati low on Cecelia Dr Amelia and Hopper Hill Cherry Grove bridge and road relocation bids. Other bids range up to 25 087. Delinquents added to real estate tax bills. School for the retarded to open Sept 1 in Summerside and moves planned to Clermont County Home by Nov 1.

OSU summer commencement honors three Countians

At Ohio State University summer commencement 1,312 graduates received diplomas. The ceremony at St. John Arena featured Dr. Robert M. delivering the address. Local honorees include Carolyn Bissantz Alley and Richard R. Gates and Clifford E. Ward Jr. earning bachelor degrees in education mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.

Hospital Levy Plans and TB Funding in Clermont County

Clermont County Commissioners certify a 0.26 per 1000 levy for a county hospital for two years and previously placed a $2.1 million hospital bond on the ballot. A 0.2 mill five year TB care levy would fund hospital TB services. A Housing and Home Finance Agency project numbers $155,000 to plan a new MGS Sewer System costing $3.9 million. County commissioners set bids for McCormick Se and Tealtown resurfacing

The board scheduled 10 a.m. Sept 17 to open bids for completing McCormick Se Kenton Ct and McGary Dr in Witham Woods, and resurfacing .80 mile of Tealtown Rd in Union Township. They shifted Tealtown work from Carmel-Tabasco Rd to sewer-related plans, totaling 2.5 miles. They also discussed remodeling the County Home first floor into a School for Retarded Children and relocating elderly residents to nursing homes.

Farmers urged to see big science preview

Clermont County plans a bus trip for farmers and wives to the Farm Science Review on Sept 29. The bus departs at 8:00 a.m. from Croswell Bus Station Williamsburg. Co sponsored by the Clermont County Agronomy Committee. The event showcases crop plots modern machinery and demonstrations on OSU land near Don Scott Airfield in Franklin County.

PTA Council Meets to Coordinate District Activities

Clermont’s PTA Council gathers in the main office with Maurice Lenz and Lowell Gingrich to plan 1965 66 programs and the operating levy on the November ballot. Attendees include PTA presidents and vice presidents from Amelia Glen Este Williamsville Tabasco and New Richmond areas. The Ohio Township Democratic Club also schedules a Sept 2 meeting at 8 15 p.m. in the New Richmond school cafeteria.

County Fair Sees Peak Attendance In 20 Years

Anstead, treasurer of the Clermont County Fair Board, reported total attendance hit 25,000 over three days, with 13,173 single admissions and 800 memberships. Purses totaled 10,000 for 60+ harness races as improvements included hog and cattle barns.

Stillmeadow Club Receives Permit

Ohio Department of Liquor Control in Columbus issues a night club permit to Stillmeadow Country Club at Stillmeadow Drive in Pierce Township. Eva C Miller’s night club permit will be suspended from noon Sept 15 until delinquent sales tax is paid. Carrie Hobday applies for beer and wine carry-out permits. United Appeal to Begin Sept 8 in Greater Cincinnati

The 1965 United Appeal launches at noon September 8 with a rally of about 750 business, labor, civic, government and education leaders at the Hotel Sheraton-Gibson in Cincinnati. The seven week drive runs through October 28 to fund 128 health and welfare agencies plus 16 Red Cross services across Ohio and Kentucky counties.

Edward R Dieckmann announced a preliminary levy of three tenths of one mill on property within the Little Miami River Conservancy District to fund organizational expenses, surveys, land options, and related costs while awaiting bond sales.
