Camp Organized by Royal Neighbors of Amelia

Plenora Camp number 9844 in Amelia Ohio was organized last Saturday with forty five members. Mrs Elenora Owens deputy presented the charter and the Norwood degree staff conferred the degree. Visitors from Victory and Enright Camps attended and a lunch was served by Mrs Eva White Oracle.

Church Wedding Unites Marie Ansteatt And Paul Ebrat

A ceremony at Owensville M E church on August 29 1925 united Miss Marie Ansteatt daughter of Mr and Mrs Val Ansteatt with Mr Paul Ebrat of Norwood. The bridal party entered to Lohrengrin’s march and featured solos by Miss Rebecca Marsh and piano by Miss Bessie James. The couple will reside at 2224 Jefferson Ave Norwood Ohio after a two week trip to St Louis and Chicago.

Popular Bata via Girl Wins Wrist Watch at Barton Show

Miss Marie Ireton won a wrist watch as the most popular girl in the race at Barton's medicine show on the school grounds last Saturday night. She led with 61 505 votes to Kathleene Haney 57 225 as Nellie Lewis won a camera by guessing beans in a bottle. The event drew a large crowd and two weeks of receipts were satisfactory.

Two Arrests Reported Along Ohio River in Clermont County

Sheriff Fred Croswell and Deputy Carl Dawson targeted river area crime after a tip. Sid Waters of Chile pleaded guilty in Batavia to transportation and possession, fined 500 and 200 and jailed until costs are paid. Pete Boyer near New Richmond fined 800 for items used to manufacture whisky. They reported a still inoperative.

Williamsburg Talent Honored At Clermont Teachers Institute

Williamsburg residents attended a program by Ferne Shubert Louise Davis and Inez McNutt Needham for the Clermont Teachers Institute. Shubert delivered dialect readings while Davis sang celestial Aida with piano support by Letha Frazier. Needham impressed as a pianist with Chopin and Liszt works, encouraging further study.

Ford says no new cars just redesigned bodies and chassis

Edsel B. Ford, president of Ford Motor Co, states there is no new Ford car. He notes improved bodies for Ford cars and a unchanged Model T chassis with frame lowering and other changes. He emphasizes continued service for about 9,000,000 Ford vehicles in use.

Since the last publication day the bridges board corrected Stanley Ansteatt on the location of the needed repairs. Ansteatt followed orders and the bridge repair is said to be badly needed and now proceeding locally.

Labor Day activities organize around Batavia with American Legion Frank W. Weaver Post leading two ball games at the school grounds, horseshoe pitching, a fiddlers contest at the town hall, and a grand dance at the armory. Clermont Receives First 2-Cent Gas Money Check

Clermont county received its first 2-cent per gallon gas fund check for 6500 last Thursday. After three months of collection the payments were expected monthly but were said to be quarterly, delaying receipts until road work ends, though quicker distribution remains possible.

Jenike Named New Deputy Surveyor for County

The county surveyor's office changes hands Monday September 7 with William Jenike, formerly Batavian and current Muskegon County deputy, becoming Murphy's deputy. Miss Orissa Bayban will replace Ada Polk, who moves to California. The Jenike family plans to relocate here, as Mrs. Jenike is formerly Martha Shannon.

The Washington D H Fair reportedly ended about $2500 in the hole after a rainy Thursday week ago. The Fair Board paid all premiums in full, preserving coverage despite the deficit.

On August 27 1925 John W Duvall and Miss Helen G Lough both of Moscow Ohio were married by Rev E Burdsall at his Batavia home. Longtime friend Fee Naylor assisted and Dixie Duvall presented the ring with Anna Rogers. After a wedding dinner they left for a short auto trip.
