Mrs. Needels thanks area workers band members and majorette parents for help in solicitation. The Amelia School Band Association invites band and majorette parents and parents of Amelia Junior Band to join. meetings are on the third Tuesday each month at 8:00 p.m. at the high school. Band director Eugene Dugan invites all parents to the September meeting.

Amelia Class C Team Wins Third National Title
The Amelia knot hole team captured the Class C national title by winning three straight games over Kingston County Kentucky Cincinnati Neighborhood House and Fort Thomas Optimist Club. Goebel and Davis homered in the first game and Goebel shined on the mound in the nightcap. Stanley Anstadt accepted the trophy from Judge Dan Handley as celebrations announced two banquets.

Mt. Carmel defeated Amelia 1 0 in a four hour 11 inning Clermont County Class B Night final. Dennis Crowley struck out 17 for Mt. Carmel while Amelia’s Mike Knox fanned 20. Both teams allowed three hits as defense ruled the game. Pat Orse drove in the winning run with a timely base hit after a steal of second.

Clermont County Schools Set to Open With 14000 Enrollment
The Clermont County Board of Education approved a 14 000 student enrollment for the new term. All county schools will start Thursday September 1 with full day sessions for grades one through twelve in the West Clermont area and split sessions for several grades. Man Held on Bad Check Charge in Hillsboro
Amelia J. Morris is held for grand jury on a bad check charge with a $2500 bond at Hillsboro. Morris pleaded not guilty in Hillsboro Municipal Court and waived further examination. She allegedly gave a $1200 check drawn on First National Bank of Bethel to Ray Purdin of Hillsboro.

Bicycle incident injures Amelia youth at Chapel Road
Charles Shrive junior 14 escaped serious harm after a bicycle crash on Chapel Road last Wednesday at 4 p.m. The front wheel locked causing a fall. He bled from the mouth and was aided by passerby Clyde Frank before treatment by Dr. A G Schulze and admission to Christ Hospital. He suffered lacerated gums and several teeth lost, later discharged Sunday.

Pitcher Siedentopf Injured In Goshen Game
Steve Siedentopf, 12, of Locust Lane, suffered a skull fracture after sliding into third and hitting his head at Goshen last Wednesday night. Taken to Children’s Hospital, he is convalescing at home. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Herman Siedentopf and will start seventh grade at Mt. Carmel.

Driver sought after hit and run leaves Graves dead near Goshen
Fran cis Graves 31 of near Goshen was struck and killed along Rt 276 about 1.5 miles southeast of Owensville. Authorities urge witnesses to report any vehicle with front end damage and await lab tests on the victim’s clothing. Graves’ shoes were found over 30 feet away, suggesting high speed. funeral services held. He survived by his widow and five children.
