Hannah Hardware keeps family roots in Bethel and on the farm

The Hannah family operates Hannah Hardware in Bethel with a 175 acre stock farm side line. Gail Hannah started the store in 1914, Robert E. Hannah joined in 1923 and took over in 1938. Dick Hannah, a nationally recognized Hereford expert, is sales manager. The family, plus six staff, expands for September 15 16 17 celebration and grew into Ohio’s largest oil heater dealer.

Registration For Batavia Schools Opens Next Tuesday

Batavia public schools will open Tuesday September 6 for grades kindergarten through twelve with registration. Superintendent Paul L Hopping announced cafeteria service starts September 7 at last year’s lunch price. A new bus and route 222 Batavia to Stonelick Road will be added. other routes stay similar at first pending possible changes.

County Sets $850 Flood Relief Quota

Elmer Kramer chair of Clermont County Red Cross announced a relief quota of 850 for victims of the northeastern flood disaster. History Making All Star Game Set For Monday

Vermont County fans will see the County Independent League top stars at 2 p.m. on Labor Day in the first all star game in county history on the Amelia diamond. Team one from Mt. Carmel Amelia Owensville and Newtonsville faces Salt Air Batavia Felicity Williamsburg led by manager Harry Didday. Proceeds aid ball players injured in this year’s games. Clermont County League Elimination Series games follow Sunday with Amelia versus Owensville at Owensville and Batavia versus Salt Air at Salt Air, both 2:00 p.m.

Clermont Northeast district resumes classes after summer

The Clermont Northeast district schools Marathon Newtonsville and Owensville will reopen Tuesday morning September 6 with the same hours as last year. J. W. Evans executive dean announced the plan.

Polio case and local health notes in Ohio County

A five year old Williamsville boy is the latest polio victim. he is at General Hospital Cincinnati as county records lack his identity. Dr. Richard Carr of Williamsburg is better and moved to Good Samaritan. Rev Arthur Gordon of Williamsburg is in critical condition in an iron lung. His son remains hospitalized and his daughter moved to a convalescent home. Four other victims are recovering. Linda Gunderman 6 Milford and Melvin Lee Hefner of Williamsburg have returned home. Line Foreman Rescues Boy From Live Wires

Lonnie J. Self seven of Epworth Heights Lane Branch Hill was saved from electrocution by Robert Gleason a pole line foreman for the Cincinnati and Suburban Bell Telephone Company. Gleason and his crew reached the scene after a post windstorm incident and lifted the live wires from the child body. Lonnie suffered minor hand and abdomen burns but survived.

Doctor Brown Eyes Batavia For New Practice

Dr. David S. Brown of Stryker Ohio plans a visit to Batavia to explore establishing a general practice in the village. Batavia, lacking adequate medical service, is the focus of a statewide attention campaign led by the Batavia Business Men's Association to attract physicians to Batavia and nearby Williamsburg.

Clermont Countians Earn Degrees From Miami University

Three residents were among the graduates at Miami University's summer commencement held Friday afternoon August 26. Albert Wallace Kettlewell of Williamsburg earned a master's in education. Earnest Paul Miracle of Route 3 Loveland received a bachelor of science in business. Wilma Schlevnty Ogg of 556 Paxton Avenue Loveland earned a bachelor of science in education.
