Ghost of Lucy Run legend in Amelia tale of tragedy
In Clermont County folklore the mid 1840s carriage tragedy near Lucy Run Cemetery endures as a haunting. A young girl died when her carriage toppled on a stormy night, her body found beside Lucy Run. Some say she still roams the loop road seeking her lover or missing companion, a spirit in a white dress near the cemetery.

Planners approve zoning changes across Clermont County
Clermont County Planning Commission last week approved several zone changes and urged township boards to consider modifications. They rezoned 10.5 acres at 1-275 and Loveland Miamiville Road to I-A Light Industrial with buildable-only approval due to steep slopes and wastewater limits. CIP Corporation gained a 45 acre M-2 General Industrial change on Clough Pike with a 75 foot buffer recommended near residential areas and a need to review transit and land use. Union Township rezoned one acre on Ohio 32 and Newberry Drive to B-7 Planned Business for Greg Vandemark’s auto dealership, with setbacks, parking, buffering, and drainage conditions. Martin Phelps sought B-7 Planned Business on Mt Carmel Tabasco Road and Sonny Lane for mixed office/residential use, requiring review of parking and screening. Subdivision reviews for Carriage Station, Rolling Greens PUD, and Tanglewood were also ed.
