Senior group dons funny hats for Halloween at Mt Moriah

Clerco Open House urged to aid handicapped access

County commissioners urge citizens to remove barriers and welcome disabled residents to participate fully. An Open House at Clerco in Owensville is set for November 4 from 1 to 4 PM with a free bus tour to Clermont County Adult Resident Home in New Richmond and return to Clerco.

Clermont County Library District bond and levy on ballot

Ballot issues include a 3.968 million 23 year bond for a library and fireproof building, plus a 0.6 mill five year levy for current expenses. Other measures seek school operations levies, tax renewals, and new taxes for Goshen and Miami Township police and fire departments, with multiple millages and five year durations.

O'Bannon delay may affect Nine Mile sewer plan

EPA review suggests O'Bannon Creek Sewer Region V rules also apply to the Nine Mile Sewerage project. Nine Mile, estimated at 12 million dollars, would serve about 2000 users along Nine Mile Road Cherry Grove Center and area south of SR 125. Over 6 million dollars, or 75 percent, would come from an EPA grant. Hearings have occurred though on-site disposal remains undetermined.

Radio station WCNE returns for Tuesday elections

The WCNE radio is back on air for the Tuesday elections. The board met last Thursday at the Kindergarten Building in Newtonsville and unanimously approved the entire package of recommendations after a five day week plan was endorsed.

Mistrial Declared in Zimmer Nuclear Trespass Case

Judge Robert P Ringland declared a mistrial in the Zimmer Nuclear Power Station trespassing case after jurors deliberated about three and a half hours. Cincinnati residents Kim Lurber and Thomas E Carpenter faced criminal trespass charges tied to a June 3 demonstration at the Zimmer plant in Moscow. The jurors' confusion arose amid testimonies on nuclear energy dangers and a juror noting a prior Vietnam background.
