Clermont County Commissioners designate date October 30 for beggar's night after consultation with township officials, outlining observance times and safety guidelines.
An open house is scheduled for Sunday October 28 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Union Township. Zoning Inspector Julia and officials Chie Nant and others will present details about local planning and property rules.
A Families Anonymous support meeting for parents of teens with drug issues will take place Wednesday October 24 at 7 30 p m. at the Council on Alcoholism located at 160 W Main Street Batavia. For more information call 732 7175 and ask for Betty.
A proclamation designates Wednesday November 7 as Physically Handicapped Day in Clermont County. The observance includes an open house in the County Administration Building meeting room on Riverside Drive in Batavia.
The Board of Education schedule has been revised from November 12 to November 19 at 7 30 p m. The notice appears in the Moe Beene School District records and affects all concerned attendees and participants.
The Clermont County Transit Board will hold its regular meeting and emplace cil cm sander of cinco the employees. All Transit Board meetings are open to the public, and visits from county residents are encouraged.

U S EPA official says the proposed O Bannon Creek Sewer project is too costly, blamed on planning for future population. Commissioner Harold Bissantz supports moving forward, while Jerome Wiesenhahn warns delays raise costs. Cayer notes 86 percent of costs go to the system and taps, with initial service for 3510 users in Goshen and portions of Miami townships. EPA had promised 75 percent funding. Deputy EPA administrator Valdas Adamkus discussed reevaluation. The panel cites aerial photos as waste but aims to proceed in six to twelve months, stressing EPA scope is rural to urban transition.

Ohio DOT says SR 32 project in Afton area is 31 percent complete with a total cost of 3.803 million dollars. John R. Jurgensen Co. builds the Frontage Road and overpasses at Western and Half Acre roads. Delays occurred mainly due to recent rains, with ARC grant funds approved to extend Western Road to connect Old SR 32 and SR 32.
Hartman Lane residents meet Clermont County Commissioners to seek action on an abandoned easement issue. They contend the sewer department still uses the road for maintenance while the county has stopped maintaining it despite prior gravel aid and an agreement with three property owners. The group plans further talks with County Sanitary Engineer Don Reckers to resolve the trespass and maintenance dispute.
A Amelia High student will start rabies vaccination after a dog bite near the ball field. He is the son of Mr and Mrs William Baird of 3197 Jenny Lind Road Amelia. The dog remains unfound despite search efforts by Baird and friends. Baird reports a pack of dogs that uses the fields.
SDRC Milford joins the CETA program as emphasis moves toward private sector hiring. Local officials say the change aims to boost hands on job placements and private employer involvement within the program.
