Second Blood Collection For Nancy Hake
The University of Cincinnati mobile blood unit returns to Day Heights Fire Department today from 2 to 8 pm to aid 13 year old Nancy Hake of Deerfield Road. Nancy, burned over half her body in a home explosion on Sept 30, remains in critical condition at Shriner’s Burns Institute Cincinnati and has had five operations with more planned.

Trustees Oppose Private Landfill in Jackson Township
The Clermont County Trustees and Clerks Association disapproved a privately owned landfill on Aber Road in Jackson Township at its Oct. 21 meeting. Trustee Richard Winder moved, seconded by Ernest Stroub, to oppose the site and have the county commissioners buy land for a public landfill. Trustee Frank Palmer noted a 300-signature petition and cited drainage concerns and the risk to Pleasant Run Creek.
