Clermont County EEA Funds Jumpstart School District Aides

The Emergency Employment Act provides 736,600 to ease unemployment in Clermont County. Harold Krempien reports 39 new hires this week, including 30 of 41 teacher aides. The project aims to 147 total positions with 81 filled. two-year scope. Jobs filled include 21 of 40 laborers, six of eight deputy sheriffs, three of four carpenters, and 12 of 20 clerk-typists across courts and county offices.

The Jackson Township Zoning Board met for the first time on November 1 to begin drafting a zoning code to be voted on in May 1972. Appointed October 25 by Township Trustees were Donald Smith as chairman, Wes Widmer as co chairman, and Lee Quallen among others.

Man Killed In Two Car Accident Withamsville

Jerome P. O'Dowd 29 died in a Saturday traffic collision on SR 125 near the Hamilton County line. His eastbound car crossed center and hit a pickup driven by William J. Beaver 39 of Williamsville who was treated and released. O'Dowd's funeral services were held Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Cincinnati. He leaves a wife Mary Jo a son William a daughter Kathleen Ann a mother Mary Delaney and a sister Rosemary Delany.

Kenny M. Shoemake, 26, Williamsburg, pleaded guilty to defrauding Cincinnati Bell. Judge Chris Rosenhoffer sentenced him to 30 days suspended, six months probation, and restitution of 59.24 dollars for calls from Lawton Oklahoma to Williamsburg charged to an unpermitted number.

A $250 000 gift from the Edmund G Burke Estate of Brooklyn New York funds immediate addition of 12 beds and a third operating room to Clermont County Hospital plans and paves the way for a third floor.
