Bids Open on SR 125 Relocation Project

Pinckney Brewer & Sons Co of Cincinnati was the low bidder at 3,100,383 for relocation and widening of SR 125 from Amelia to Bethel a distance of 8.4 miles with an estimated completion date of September 30 1967. The state project estimate was 3,140,000.

The unit offers low cost chest x rays and can diagnose various lung diseases beyond tuberculosis. Batavia Officers to Attend Norwood Police Academy Training

Batavia Police Chief Edward H. Colonel said two Batavia patrolmen Charles Good and Gerald Link will attend the Norwood Police Academy for 129 hours of training starting Sunday. Officers appointed after Jan 1 1966 must complete at least 120 hours. judicial candidates will be present at governor visits to Milford Cherry Grove Amelia Batavia and Williamsburg locations. Governor Rhodes plans to visit multiple counties to meet residents and report on administration progress. Clermont County Agricultural Agent W W Hamilton was honored by the Ohio County Extension Agents Association in Columbus for completing 25 years in extension work. Four Held After Two Firms Looted

Four suspects, including a juvenile, were arrested after break ins at King Qwik Market and Wilsons Sohio on Mt Carmel Tobasco Rd. Gary L. Bowers and Charles E. Four Charges Placed Against Nicholas Konrad

Nicholas Konrad 26 of 1846 Goshen Pike was arrested after a 65 mph pursuit that started on Wooster Pike and ended in Milford. He faces four charges including speeding resisting arrest reckless operation of a motor vehicle and assault with intent to kill. The arrest involved a struggle with Terrace Park Officer William Parris who sustained a shoulder injury.

Reservoir Work Possible By July In Clermont County

The East Fork Reservoir project may start by July 1 if land is secured. The Army Corps of Engineers notes $500,000 in authorizations, with total near $935,000 allotted so far for a project costing about $25 million. The plan includes a 200 ft dam and 1450 ft crest, surrounding parklands, and annual visitor potential around four million.

County Newsman Dies Of Cancer

Frank Ray Wackenthaler 52 longtime Batavia Bureau chief for The Cincinnati Enquirer died Sunday after a cancer fight. Services held at Thomas Funeral Home Madisonville with burial at Gate of Heaven Montgomery. Survived by wife Margaret three sons Gary Kenneth Ronald and daughter Peggy. He lived at 5612 Islington Ave Madisonville and valued Clermont County ties. His career spanned The Courier The Clermont Sun The Cincinnati Post and more, last writing on East Fork Reservoir funding before President Johnson signed the dam bill.
