Auditor Earl Metzger announces the second half distribution of 2.494 million dollars in real estate taxes and 4 073 dollars in trailer taxes. Real estate funds largely support schools with 1 743 508 dollars. state shares include health 19 610 and other allocations. Trailers taxes distribute to state 20 and local funds, with schools receiving 3 026 dollars.

Bethel to Get $50,000 Gift for Hospital Bond Vote

A New York law firm says Edmund G. Burke estate will donate over 50 000 to a Clermont County hospital if Bethel voters approve a bond issue on November 8. Mrs Burke widow supports the campaign and hopes the gift spurs approval. Burke had supported Bethel with prior gifts. the town may share in the estate.

Women Voters Week Focuses on Election Power in Clermont

Clermont County observes Women Voters Week November 1 to 8 with a campaign by the League of Women Voters to inform women voters. Governor proclaims the week and Clermont County League of Women Voters Day on October 27 1966. The league will distribute candidate flyers and host a candidate night at the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Auditorium Batavia with Q A and social hour. Also noted, Ohio Dept of Liquor Control suspends Joseph H Steele Sr Circle Inn Love land permits from November 16 to November 30 for beer sales to a minor. An application for Brown's Super Market carryout beer and wine permits is under processing.

Clermont County Sales Tax and Gas Revenues Rise

State Treasurer John D. Herbert reports Clermont County tax receipts for July 1 1965 to June 30 1966 show sales tax up 13 percent to 978 037 from 865 151. Motor vehicle and use taxes rise 5.3 percent to 634 853 from 611 410. State Auditor Roger Cloud notes townships each received 800 dollars totaling 11 200 in the fourth gas tax distribution.

Free Red Cross Course Offered at Cranston Memorial

A free Red Cross course in care of the sick and injured will run weekly for six weeks at Cranston Memorial Presbyterian Church starting October 27. Registrations are taken by Mrs. Ida Kennard of Batavia and the Cincinnati Area Red Cross office. Classes meet 1 to 3 p.m. under a Red Cross nurse, teaching illness symptoms, temperature taking, patient comfort, and simple doctor ordered treatments.

Park Drive Moves Ahead in Batavia Village

Batavia village council held a special meeting to advance plans for a new 8 to 10 acre park within a two mile radius. Negotiations with property owners will continue as officials seek a federal grant to finance recreational facilities. County planner Donald Buckley aids the recreation committee in drafting the grant materials.
