Byron Barbeau of Batavia was struck by another driver on State Route 74 below Batavia while returning home. His car wrecked and he sustained painful bruises. the other driver fled the scene. Richard Davis of Williamsburg fell asleep at the wheel on State Route 74 near Glen Este, his car left the road and wrecked with minor injuries reported.

The 4-H clubs of Clermont Hamilton Warren and Butler counties will air on Station WLW during the National Farm and Home Hour on Saturday November 6 from 12 45 to 1 15 pm. About 250 spectators attended the Clermont county shock corn husking event held last Saturday. W W Snider of Batavia won the men’s contest with 676 lbs husked after deductions, narrowly beating Eugene Tissander of Lorado who had 664.6 lbs. Mrs Emma Bauer of Batavia won the women’s contest with 206 lbs, Florence Campbell of Marathon placed second with 19 lbs.

Roy McKibben 52, farmer near Bethel, died at 11 00 a m Monday after falling from a hay mow while helping shuck corn at the William Milner farm in Wiggensville. Coroner and Dr. C C Davison said death came from a broken neck. He leaves a wife Iona and two children Harold 30 and Louise 19.
