Bethel Man Walter Wood Dies by Own Action
Funeral services for Walter Wood age 29 of Bethel were held at Bethel Christian Church with Kennedy Funeral Home in charge. He reportedly faced unemployment for three months due to stomach ulcers and, devastated by the layoff, fired a pistol at his heart at his Charity Street home. Wood had worked as a bus driver for R S Croswell years ago and more recently for Ohio Bus Lines on a Cincinnati to Muncie route. He was survived by his father Charles B Wood Sr a Bethel resident and four siblings Chas Jr Elton Mrs Alice Pride and Mrs Gladys Donaworth.

Drunken Driver Pleads Guilty After Crash
John Scott of Amelia was arrested Friday night for operating a car while intoxicated. He collided with Homer Ellis at Williamsville, damaging both vehicles. Deputy Sheriff Tom Brooks jailed him until Saturday morning when he pled guilty and was fined 100 dollars with half suspended if costs are paid in four weeks. Driving rights were not suspended.
